Effective 2007-2008 Award Year

Beginning Freshmen/New Students
*Application Deadline is December 1st.
Awards for applications received after December 1st will be prorated and contingent upon the availability of funds.

Academic Achievement Award

- GPA: 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
- ACT: 20 or above
- SAT: 940-970 or above
- Exhibit extracurricular/leadership involvement
- Covers $1,000 to $3,000 per year

Recipients must maintain full time enrollment and complete 12 hours each semester with a semester and cumulative 3.0 GPA.

**Students who fail to meet the required 3.0 semester GPA may retain the award for the immediate succeeding fall or spring semester if their cumulative GPA is 3.0 or above. Students who fail to make the required semester/cumulative GPA that semester will forfeit the award forever.

**A one time probationary period will be granted for beginning freshmen at the end of their first awarded semester only if the semester and cumulative GPA is at least 2.75. Beginning freshmen whose first semester and cumulative GPA falls below 2.75 will forfeit their award. The student must meet the required semester and cumulative GPA the following semester in order to maintain the award.

Board of Supervisors

- GPA: 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
- ACT: 20 or above
- SAT: 940-970 or above
- Exhibit extracurricular/leadership involvement
- Must be a Louisiana resident
- Covers $1,500 per year

Recipients must maintain full time enrollment and complete 12 hours each semester with a semester and cumulative 3.0 GPA.

**Students who fail to meet the required 3.0 semester GPA forfeit the award forever.

Presidential Scholarship

- GPA: 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale
- ACT: 27 or above
- SAT: 1210-1230 or above
- Exhibit extracurricular/leadership involvement
- Covers full amount of tuition, fees and on campus room & board

Recipients must maintain full time enrollment and complete 12 hours each semester with a semester and cumulative 3.5 GPA.

**Students who fail to meet the required 3.5 semester GPA may retain the award for the immediate succeeding fall or spring semester if their cumulative GPA is 3.5 or above. Students who fail to make the required semester/cumulative GPA that semester will forfeit the award forever.

Beginning freshmen whose first semester and cumulative GPA falls below 3.25 will forfeit their award. The student must meet the required semester and cumulative GPA the following semester in order to maintain the award.

Executive Merit Scholarship

- Two students from Grambling High School (valedictorian and salutatorian) will be awarded every year
- The top graduates (valedictorian and salutatorian) of the target Upward Bound schools in the partnering parishes may be awarded depending on the availability of funds. The recipient must have been participants in the Grambling State University’s Upward Bound Program.

Partnering Parishes:
Bienville, Claiborne, Jackson, Lincoln, Webster

The Executive Merit Scholarship covers the full amount of tuition, fees, on campus room and board and $350 for books.
Summer school attendance is not covered by the scholarship.

Recipients must maintain a 3.5 semester/cumulative GPA and earn 12 hours per semester.
Students who fail to earn a 3.5 semester/cumulative GPA may apply for a lesser academic scholarship depending on the availability of funds.

Presently Enrolled/Transfer Students

** The application deadline is March 1st
Applications received after March 1st will only be considered if funds are available.

Academic Achievement Award

- GPA: 3.0 or above
- Recipient must be currently enrolled with a minimum of 24 hours and a cumulative 3.0 GPA.

Students must maintain full-time enrollment each semester with a cumulative/semester 3.0 GPA to maintain the award.

Scholarship covers $1000-$3000 per year. Award limits may be reduced depending on the availability of funds.


Scholarship recipients are not allowed to exceed their financial aid cost of attendance. Awards will be reduced or cancelled to prevent an over-award.
