MLK Celebration planned
GRAMBLING, La. — The annual Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr. celebration will be held Monday, January 21 at 7:00 p.m.
in the T. H. Harris Auditorium on the Grambling State University campus.
The speaker for this year's celebration will be the Rev. Theron Jackson
of Shreveport. He serves as special assistant to the chancellor at Southern
University in Shreveport. A former member of the Shreveport City Council,
Rev. Jackson is the pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Greenwood, Louisiana.
Grambling State University and Wossman High (Monroe) School choirs will
provide special music for the celebration which honors the late civil rights
leader. Other special guests include the Louisiana Tech University Student
Government Association and Student Union Board.
