GSU Remembers Ladd
GRAMBLING-----Former
Grambling State University football standout and noted citizen, Ernie"Big
Cat" Ladd, passed this weekend after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ladd played for the tigers in the late 50's as a defensive tackle. A native
of Orange, Texas, Ladd was drafted to play professional football for the
San Diego Chargers in the early 60's and he also played for the Houston
Oilers and the Kansas City Chiefs. He later turned to professional wrestling
where he is listed in that sport's (WWF) hall of fame. "Mr. Ladd was
an outstanding citizen and athlete. He worked constantly to enhance the
quality of life for mankind. Grambling State University and the nation will
miss him", said GSU president, Dr. Horace A. Judson.
Ladd was living in Franklin, Louisiana at the time of his death.
