GRAMBLING-----Grambling State University hosted representatives from the Pole Universitaire Leonard de Vinci as a part of their visit to University of Louisiana System constituent member schools-honoring an agreement to connect Louisiana to France.
The University of Louisiana System recently signed an agreement with the French university to create a partnership for student and faculty exchange opportunities. The university has international partnerships with universities in Spain, China, Canada, Korea, Italy, Australia, South Africa and Switzerland.
The Memorandum of Understanding between GSU, the other seven ULS Schools and the Pole Universitaire Leonard de Vinci, will allow students to attend college abroad for the same tuition they pay at home. The partnership includes students majoring in business, computer science, engineering, technology and visual arts. This includes a reciprocal exchange of faculty, staff and students; development of international student programs; housing of visiting scholars and study tours/summer sessions; and organization of joint academic and scientific activities such as courses, conferences, seminars, symposia or lectures. The partnership further includes enrollment of highly qualified students in undergraduate and graduate studies and development of textbooks journal articles, or other scholarly publications.
"This is an excellent opportunity for our students and faculty members as we continue to build global leaders," said Dr. Robert Dixon, provost and vice-president for academic affairs.
The delegation was led by ULS provost and vice-president for academic affairs, Dr. Brad O'Hara. The visit included an opening meeting, campus tour, meetings with deans, department heads and students.
