2009 Homecoming Activities

GRAMBLING----Grambling State University will celebrate its 2009 homecoming week October 25th through November 1st, 2009. The week will feature a Gospel Explosion, Costume Fashion Show, BET Black College Tour, Block Party, Comedy Show, Greek Step Show, Talent Show, Alumni Events, Parade, Career Fair, Pep Rally and the Homecoming Football Game.

This year’s activities kick off with a Gospel Explosion, October 25th at 6 p.m. in the GSU Auditorium. “We have worked especially hard to ensure that there are plenty of student activities,” said Coach Ponton, Director of Student Activities.

Alumni festivities begin Friday, October 30th at the Washington-Johnson Complex with “On the Radio with KGRM” and the 2009 Hall of Fame Inductees at 9 a.m. “This year will be exciting as ever” said Ralph Wilson, the interim Director of Alumni Relations. Alumni activities include an Alumni Breakfast, Luncheon, Mixer and Hall of Fame Banquet.

This year’s homecoming parade is lining up to be one of the most entertaining to date. The parade begins at 9 a.m. in downtown Grambling and travels through the GSU campus and ends on South Main Street. Tailgating activities will take place on the GSU campus until 1:30 p.m.

You don’t want to miss the GSU Tigers as they take on the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Eddie Robinson Stadium.
