HIGH ABILITY PROGRAM Dear Prospective High Ability Student: The High Ability Program at Grambling State University is an exciting enrichment program for high school juniors (rising seniors) who have exemplified outstanding academic standards throughout their high school years. Students will be able to receive seven college credit hours in English, mathematics (Calculus), orientation seminars and vocal music/physical education activity. We believe the High Ability Program will not only offer a superb educational experience, but also promote individual growth and development. Cultural and social activities will include movies, dances, tennis, swimming, and out-of-town trips. The program will officially begin June 27, 2009 and end July 29, 2009. Students are required to report Saturday, June 27, for housing. Orientation will be held Sunday, June 28. All students are required to attend. The enrollment deadline is April 17, 2009. The application forms needed to complete the registration process are at www.gram.edu . The application forms include the GSU admission application, housing form and GSU immunization form. There is no application fee or housing deposit required. An official transcript must be sent along with completed forms. There are a limited number of full scholarships covering tuition, room and board. Books and travel are not covered. Students must have a 3.3 or above based on a 4.0 scale to qualify for the full scholarship and 3.0 to 3.29 for a partial scholarship. Full scholarships cover tuition, room and board; partial scholarships cover tuition only. Partial scholarships fees are $564.00 for room and board. A11 students are required to pay a $500.00 fee that covers travel and activities. The 2009 High Ability Program is an opportunity to start your college career with a commanding lead on your class.
