Experience & accomplishments: A native of Norfolk, VA, Mrs. Grigsby moved to New York City in 1973 where she joined the Alvin Ailey Repertory Dance Ensemble. She toured extensively with Alvin Ailey performing in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Artistic Associate of Louisiana Dance Theater, honor company in Regional Dance America Southwest. Winner of the prestigious “Silver Leo Award” for choreography of “Red” at the 1994 Jazz Dance World Congress held in Chicago. In 1995, the Nina Widemann Foundation of Shreveport presented her with the “Living Legend Award”. She returned to perform at The Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble in tribute to famed Dancer and Choreographer, Ulysses Dove.

Experience & accomplishments: Assistant Director of Floyd L. Sandle Theatre having directed hundreds of plays over eighteen years at GSU. Some directorial productions include: “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone”, “Groovy” (the musical), “It Ain’t Misbehavin”, “A Star Ain’t Nothing But A Hole In Heaven”, “Antigone”. Director of Debate for GSU. President of National Association of Dramatic Speech Arts (NASDA). Proud of many former students who pursued a professional career in entertainment, which includes: Recording Artist/Actress Erykah Badu (Music: Baduizm 1997, Erykah Badu LIVE 1997, Mama’s Gun 2000, World Wide Underground 2003, Movies: Blues Brothers 2002, Cider House Rules, House of D). Also actress Natalie DeSalle (B.A.P. starring Halle Berry 1997) , and others.

Experience & accomplishments: Twenty years of secretarial experience with over seventeen years in Speech and Theatre Department. She is the House Manager for the F.L Sandle “Little” Theatre located in Dunbar Hall. Mrs. Modest’s greatest accomplishment in life is being a wife, and a proud mother of two children: Sharon Denise, alumni of Grambling State University is a Loan Consultant at Capital One in Richardson, Texas while Donovan, alumni of Southern Arkansas University is in graduate school at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock . Mrs. Modest has one grandson, Shandon Marcel Ludley.

Experience & accomplishments: John Shadowinds is a solid lead & rhythm guitarist, bass guitarist, keyboardist, back-up vocalist, songwriter, and producer, born in Shreveport, LA, June 26, 1967. This outstanding guitarist has been playing nationaly for 20 years. At age 40, he is represented on 5 albums, 4 instrumental albums, and a 6 episode television special nationwide. He is a well-experienced studio musician and producer.
