The mission of the Department of Marketing is to assist students in the development of knowledge and skills that are essential for a successful entry into business-related professions and other organizations. Specifically, the department seeks to:
- Acquaint students with the common body of knowledge needed for an entry-level position in their field of study
- Improve the skills of students in the areas of problem solving, communication, and knowledge of related technology
- Offer students an opportunity to enrich their knowledge through scholarly programs, including global issues
- Provide social service programs and activities to members of the community
The Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Marketing is awarded to those students who complete the 125 semester hours program in Marketing and meet the University and College of Business graduation requirements. Students are encouraged to see their advisor for specific elective courses that will be helpful in their career goals.
The Department sponsors and supports the American Marketing Association, which is one of the most dynamic organizations on campus. The Club sponsors the Annual Marketing Career Conference, as well as seminars and field trips for members and non-members.
