Dr. Amenuke received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, and received both Master’s degree in Public Health and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Social Work from Jackson State University. Dr. Amenuke has extensive work experience in the Ghana Health Service as a Nurse and Health Promotion Officer and has worked briefly as a Research Coordinator at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Her research areas of interest include health issues and well-being of women, children, and older adults. She has made a number of professional conference presentations, including topics addressing care and support for United States’ children of veterans affected by the war in Iraq and Afghanistan; PTSD among older veterans; and determinants of breast cancer screening practices among women.  Dr. Amenuke has co-published articles in professional Journals, including Advances in Social Work Journal and Journal of Nephrology & Therapeutics.

Dr. Amenuke is a member of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR).
