Admission Criteria - 2010

FOR LOUISIANA HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES

GSU Spring & Summer 2010

GSU Fall 2010

16.5 High School Core Units

AND

17.5 High School Core Units

AND

High School GPA of 2.0 or above

OR

Composite of 19 or above on ACT
(or SAT equivalent of 900)

*Note: The Verbal and Math scores are used to compute the SAT equivalent.

High School GPA of 2.0 or above

OR

Composite of 20 or above on ACT
(or SAT equivalent of 940)

*Note: The Verbal and Math scores are used to compute the SAT equivalent.

OR

*Rank in the Top 50% of HS Graduation Class
*For Louisiana students only

OR

*Rank in the Top 50% of HS Graduation Class
*For Louisiana students only

AND

Require no more than one developmental course

If student takes the ACT, must score 18 on English OR 19 on math
OR
If student takes the SAT, must score 450 on Verbal (Critical Reading) OR 460 on math.

AND

Require no more than one developmental course

If student takes the ACT, must score 18 on English OR 19 on math
OR
If student takes the SAT, must score 450 on Verbal (Critical Reading) OR 460 on math.

OUT-OF-STATE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES

First-time freshmen who are graduates of out-of-state high schools must meet ALL admission criteria in ONE of the following groups:

GROUP 1:
Completion of current minimum high school core curriculum (refer to minimum criteria for in-state students); require no more than one developmental course; and one of the following:

  1. Minimum cumulative, un-weighted high school GPA of 2.0 (4.0 scale); OR
  2. Minimum composite ACT of 19 (SAT Verbal & Math score of 900). Note: The ACT requirement will be 20 for fall 2010.

*To meet the developmental course requirement, students must have the following ACT or SAT sub-score in addition to the above criteria:

If student takes the ACT: you must score 18 on the ACT English OR 19 on the ACT Math
If student takes the SAT: you must score 450 on the SAT Verbal ( Critical Reading) OR 460 on the SAT Math 

GROUP 2:
Minimum composite ACT of 19 or above (SAT Verbal & math score of 900); minimum cumulative, un-weighted high school GPA of 2.0 (4.0 scale); and require no more than one developmental course*. Note: The ACT requirement will be 20 for fall 2010.

*To meet the developmental course requirement, student must meet the following ACT or SAT sub-score, in addition to the above criteria:

If student takes the ACT, must score 18 on English OR 19 on math.
If student takes the SAT, must score 450 on the Verbal (Critical Reading) OR 460 on the math. 

GROUP 3:
Minimum composite ACT of 23 (SAT of 1050); and require no more than one developmental course*.

*To meet the developmental course requirement, students must have the following ACT or SAT sub-score in addition to the above criteria:

If student takes the ACT, must score 18 on English OR 19 on math.
If student takes the SAT, must score 450 on the Verbal (Critical Reading) OR 460 on the math.
