Note: Applicants with Certificate of Achievement diplomas are not eligible for admission. Additionally, students with a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) are not eligible for admission to the university. Students with a GED are advised to attend a community college, and after successfully completing a two-year program of study to seek admission to the university as a transfer student.
All new freshman applicants must meet the criteria for admission. Admission to the university is conditional until evidence of graduation from high school and completion of required core units are received.

- ACT or SAT scores. Test scores are required of all freshman students. Scores must be sent directly from the testing agency.
- Must have a minimum ACT composite of 18 (SAT of 860).

- LOUISIANA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
- It will not be necessary to have transcripts sent to Grambling State
University from your high school, unless you graduated before 2004.
We will request your seventh semester and final high school transcript
from the Board of Regents and the Louisiana Department of Education’s
Student Transcript System.
- OUT-OF-STATE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
- Must submit an official, sixth or seventh semester transcript which indicates a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA (4.0 scale).
- Request your high school to send an official transcript once final grades and graduation date have been posted.
- Transcripts cannot be faxed.
- Official College Transcript (Transfer Applicants)
- Submit official transcript(s) from all regionally accredited institutions attended.
- Official is defined as one mailed directly from the institution. It bears the institution’s seal, signature of the registrar, date of issuance, and is issued to Grambling State University – Office of Admissions.
- Transcripts cannot be faxed.
- Proof of Immunization and medical history. Please mail proof of immunization
to 403 Main Street, P. O. Box 4251, Grambling, LA 71245. Or you may fax

Application Deadlines
- Fall Semester – June 1st
- Spring Semester – December 1st
- Summer Sessions – May 1st
Note: Applications submitted after the established deadline
will be automatically considered for the subsequent semester. If you do
not enroll for the term applied, you must notify us in writing of your desire
to change to the next term. Your application fee and credentials can only
be applied to the subsequent term of the initial application.
