Parent Orientation Activities
Congratulations on your child’s admission to Grambling State University! We understand
that sending your loved one to college can be both exciting and stressful. Our Summer
Orientation Advising & Registration program, also known as SOAR, will ensure your student is registered and ready for the first day of classes! By
the end of SOAR, you and your student will make the transition from guest to Gramblinite.
Students will have a jam-packed schedule! There are some joint sessions, but we have
also developed sessions to assist in your transition to Grambling State University
as well!
BELOW IS THE TENTATIVE ITINERARY:
DAY 1 – Wednesday, July 19, 2017
6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – Dinner, McCall Dining Hall ($6.00)
7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Parent Meet and Greet, Favrot Student Union Black and Gold Room
DAY 2 – Thursday, July 20, 2017
7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. – Breakfast, McCall Dining Hall ($6.00)
9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – Parent Information Session, Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center – Section 101
11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Lunch, McCall Dining Hall ($6.00)
NOTE: Parents, feel free to visit the Eddie G. Robinson Museum and Barnes and Noble Bookstore at your leisure. J
