Use of Facilities Policy

USE OF GSU FACILITIES BY NON-UNIVERSITY GROUPS/ORGANIZATIONS

PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE

To ensure that use of University facilities is in keeping with the University's mission

STATEMENT OF POLICY

Students have priority in the use of University facility(s).

The use of facilities may be granted to public, quasi-public, religious, and civic groups. Such usage shall not interfere with or infringe upon the University's capacity to fulfill its primary mission.

Grambling State University facility(s) will not be rented to an individual; nor will an individual or group be permitted to sponsor or co-sponsor events for personal gain.

All requests for such facility use should be submitted to the Director of Administrative Services two weeks prior to the event date. Requests must include special equipment required for the event, (i.e., speaker stands, public address systems, piano, projectors, etc.). A Request form may be obtained from the Office of Administrative Services.

Non-university groups/organizations using University facility(s) shall provide liability insurance coverage with a minimum amount of $1,000,000.00. Failure to provide proper proof of insurance seven calendar days prior to the event will result in cancellation of the use of the facility(s).

The Director of Administrative Services shall have administrative responsibilities for the use of GSU's facility(s) by non-university groups with the appropriate approval.
