GRAMBLING STATE UNIVERSITY SPONSORED EVENTS
GSU events that utilize the performance of the university concert choir include Honors Day Convocation, Annual Black History Convocation, Homecoming Convocation, and Fall / Spring / and Summer Commencement Exercises.
SHREVEPORT SPIRITUAL FESTIVAL
This spiritual festival is hosted by the New Dimensions Choral Society of Shreveport, LA. The event is usually held at the Galilee Baptist Church, Shreveport, LA, showcasing area regional choirs.
ANNUAL SPRING MUSICAL
Features all major ensembles at Grambling, including the University Concert Choir, Small Vocal Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band / Marching Band, and Jazz Band
LIBERTY HILL BAPTIST ASSOC. ANNUAL SESSION
The university is presented in concert as a prelude to the president's speech on Education Night Emphasis.
ANNUAL KWEI KWEI FESTIVAL
The festival is held in Dallas, TX at the St. Luke Community United Methodist church. Regional choirs are showcased presenting Negro Spirituals.
HERITAGE CHOIR SPIRITUAL FESTIVAL
Held in Baton Rouge, La, this Festival showcases college/university, community, and high school choral groups.
GSU CHOIR CHORAL REVIEW
Each review is scheduled in conjunction with the Grambling State University Football Schedule. Local high schools are featured in each city and followed by a presentation by the GSU choir. There is a recruiting reception afterwards with exhibits from each department of the university. High School seniors are invited from all area and statewide schools.
GSU CHOIR ANNUAL CONCERT SERIES
The series includes, Fall Concert, Masterwork/Concert, and Black History Concert.
SPRING TOUR
The tour will usually involve showcasing the GSU choir at schools, churches, arenas, and other venues across the country and the world for the purpose of student recruitment, University recognition, and student performance and travel opportunities. The tour will usually last approximately 7-20 days.
AFRICAN AMERICAN CHORAL COMPOSERS FESTIVAL
The GSU Choir will sponsor this spring event for state wide and national high school choirs to compete for first, second and third place cash prizes. The festival's purpose is to bring awareness to African American composers, preserve the African American music heritage, promote artistic value amongst high school music programs, and award financial support to outstanding high school choirs.
GSU CHOIR SUMMER CAMP
This camp will draw to Grambling University high school students over the state of Louisiana for two weeks of study of vocal technique, vocal performances, solo and ensemble performances and music recreation and activities.
