Grambling State University's Distance Learning Program is a component of the Division of Continuing Education and Special Programs. Its mission is to coordinate outreach, public service and learning opportunities. The Division offers credit and non-credit programs and technical certifications. The DLP endeavors to do the following:
-
Provide a range of learning experiences to extend access and deliver academic programs to state, national, and international populations. These programs are delivered through the innovative integration and combination of satellite uplinking, compressed video, and world wide web technologies.
-
Develop strategic and functional relationships and partnerships with external entities to enhance and extend technological infrastructures and to provide access to large populations of potential nontraditional students
-
Enrich campus instruction and enable faculty, students, and people in the surrounding communities to transcend geographical isolation and to gain access to outside educational experiences otherwise not available. Special-interest telecourses, teleworkshops, and teleconferences developed by GSU or by third-party vendors are distributed via the creative use of the university educational channel, campus learning channel, Internet and satellite downlinking technologies.
Grambling's Distance Learning Program uses Blackboard as its online Learning Management System.
