Welcome to the College of Education (COE) at Grambling State University. Accredited for more than four decades and recognized for its long tradition of excellence and devotion to diversity and innovation consistent with the conceptual framework and mission of the university, the COE continues to meet the needs of a rapidly changing society. The faculty and staff are committed to the core values of professional excellence, diversity, collegiality , and ethics and as a result produce graduates (at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral level) who are change agents in K-12 schools and institutions of higher learning. Mission
The College of Education, the oldest college in the University, has been nationally accredited since 1964. The College of Education (COE) seeks to produce graduates who are competent and compassionate professionals. In preparing students for work in P-12 and higher education settings, the faculty and staff in the College of Education strive to produce graduates who value academic excellence, diversity, equity, and fairness.
The faculty members in the College endeavor to ensure that their students acquire the professional skills, dispositions, and knowledge-bases that reflect best practices in research, service, and teaching within the field of education.
About
The College of Education (COE) has three departments, namely: Curriculum and Instruction; Kinesiology, Sport, and Leisure Studies; and Educational Leadership. All three have graduate and undergraduate degree programs and are intensely engaged in innovative projects designed to expand the knowledge base in the field of education. Additionally, the COE has three laboratory schools through which its mission of ensuring experiences that reflect best practices in research, service, and teaching is realized. The names of the schools are: Alma J. Brown Elementary School; Grambling Middle Magnet School; and Grambling High School.
