About the College of Education

The College of Education (COE) at Grambling State University is the oldest college at the university and is headed by the Dean and reports directly to the Office of the Vice President and Provost of Academic Affairs. It has been nationally accredited, through NCATE, since 1964 and currently has over 600 students (graduate and undergraduate).

The College of Education has three departments, namely: the Department of Teacher Education; the Department of Kinesiology, Sport and Leisure Studies; and the Department of Educational Leadership.

Additionally, the College of Education has three laboratory schools, namely: Alma J. Brown Elementary; Grambling Middle Magnet; and Grambling High.

There are three auxiliary units, namely: the Office of Professional Laboratory Experiences (housed in the Department of Teacher Education); the CARE Center (housed in the Department of Teacher Education); and the Educational Research Center (ERC).
