| DEPARTMENT: | Center for International Affairs & Programs (CIAP) |
| QUALIFICATIONS: | A Bachelor's degree is required, and a Masters strongly preferred with two (2) years related experience in international student affairs or study abroad advising preferred. Superior skills in cross-cultural counseling are also strongly desired. The successful candidate will have solid knowledge of F-1 and J-1 immigration rules, regulations and procedures. We are looking for a dedicated, organized and detail-oriented person who is dependable, punctual and possesses tactfulness and diplomacy combined with maturity, sophistication and cross-cultural sensitivity. A high degree of flexibility to handle changing priorities is expected. The ability to deal with interruptions, exercise good judgment and to handle confidential materials is crucial. The desired candidate must have the ability to produce outstanding work and possess the ability to communicate in a foreign language. Advanced experience with technology, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, web page and Access database design and management, is very desirable. Demonstrated experience with SCT Banner, FERPA rules and regulations, and methods of transporting data across operating systems and between database applications is also desirable. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends during peak time. Overseas experience is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to serve as International Admission Counselor/ Advisor. |
