DEPARTMENT: Department of Kinesiology, Sport and Leisure Studies  

QUALIFICATIONS: Ed.D./Ph.D. required in theraputic recreation, leisure studies, recreation, or a related field. Must demonstrate interest in the areas of pedagogy, grant writing, research and publication, and other scholarly activities. The desired candidate should be actively involved with professional organizations; and have teaching experience at the secondary and/or university level. Must have the CTRS/CLP or be in the process of securing the certification.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide leadership in the career field of Leisure Studies
  • Assist with department recruitment and retention
  • Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Conduct student advisement and recruitment
  • Supervise the LSP faculty
  • Work to maintain LSP accreditation and work with other department programs and activities
  • Other duties as assigned
