DEPARTMENT: Office of Admissions & Recruitment  

QUALIFICATIONS: The desired candidate must possess a bachelor's degree (Master's preferred). Excellent public relation skills are required, including the ability to make oral presentations. Must be willing to travel frequently, including evenings, overnight and weekends. Must have a valid driver's license, an excellent driving record , required liability insurance, and reliability transportation (as needed). Proficient computer skills (MS Access, PowerPoint, and Excel preferred), excellent oral and written communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to be a team player are also required. A working knowledge of MS Word Mail Merge and the Banner Student System are a plus.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Recruit students at high schools and junior colleges, and various other college recruitment activities, providing prospective students with admission criteria and other pertinent information for enrollment
  • Visit and establish professional relationships with counselors from feeder schools
  • Recruit within assigned LACRAO zones
  • Conduct timely follow-up with prospective students to ensure receipt of pertinent admission and other enrollment documents
  • Implement specific recruitment strategies as assigned by the director and/or designee
  • Assist with any university process which relates to enrollment of students
  • Counsel prospective students/parents concerning admissions, scholarships, and residential life
  • Assist with implementation of office-sponsored events(i.e., articulation workshops, counselor conferences, Senior Day)
  • Provide leadership in coordinating the annual High School/Transfer Day activites
  • Provide campus tours as assigned by the Campus Tour Coordinator
  • Attend high school graduations to provide special recognition to honor students receiving scholarships to the institution
  • Provide leadership in the telemarketing efforts that include follow-up to prospective students
  • Provide training to volunteer and alumni recruiters
  • Collect, review, evaluate, and process admission applications in accordance with university policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions/Recruitment
