DEPARTMENT: Office of Sponsored Programs  

QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in an academic discipline is required; however, a master's degree is preferred. Experience in proposal development and managing federally funded projects are preferred. At least five years of management experience is required.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Assist the Director with the implementation of the yearly plan to increase the funding received from grants and contracts.
  • Work with the Director to revise annually the plan to increase the number and the funding of grants and contracts received by the University
  • Assist the Director in preparing for the Provost monthly progress reports of work accomplished in the office
  • Assist the Director in operating the office in accord with policies of the University and the University of Louisiana System
  • Assist the Director in the development of and in updating annually a Capabilities Statement describing the expertise of the faculty
  • Assist the Director with marketing the University faculty to federal agencies, corporations, and foundations
  • Assist the Director with the development of working relationships with program officers at federal agencies, national laboratories, and foundations
  • Represent the Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs at conferences and meetings dealing with grants and contracts
  • Assist the Director with operating the office to provide assistance and encouragement to faculty attempting to write proposals
  • Carry out other duties to the purpose of the office as assigned by the Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs
