DEPARTMENT: School of Social Work  

QUALIFICATIONS: MSW and Ph.D. degrees in Social Work or a closely related field. Candidates with ABD will be considered. At least three years of teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels at an accredited university; Commitment to teaching and research; Ability to work closely with students in preparing them for careers in social work; Skills and competency in writing proposals to seek external funds; Active involvement with social work professional and academic organizations; Familiarity with CSWE Commission on Accreditation’s Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards to assist the School on reaffirmation; and Strong oral and written communication skills.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in social work
  • Assist the School in student advising, preparing them to gain certification
  • Serve on School, College and University committees as assigned
  • Conduct research
  • Assist the School in recruitment
  • Other duties as assigned by the assigned by the Associate Dean of the School of Social Work, Dean of the College of the Professional Studies, and the Provost/Vice-President for Academic Affairs.
