DEPARTMENT: Political Science and Public Administration  

QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. in Political Science is required. Ph.D. Specialization or Subfield areas must include one or more of the following: American Government & Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations, Political Theory, Public Law, Judicial Process, Race & Ethnicity, and/or Quantitative & Qualitative Methods. The desired candidate should have teaching experience in Political Science at the college level. Forthcoming or research in progress a plus. Advanced ABD's considered.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Teach a range of Political Science courses at the undergraduate level in area(s) of specialization including American National Government courses, and introductory courses for first year Political Science majors
  • Participate in curriculum review and development
  • Assist in recruiting majors for the Department at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Engage in research and scholarly activities and publish in his or her area specialty
  • Attend national and regional conferences and engage in other professional development activities
  • Write grants related for funding in area(s) of research
  • Advise and mentor students
  • Serve on various committees as assigned
  • Attend faculty meetings, convocations, commencements and other official university and departmental functions as requested
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Department Head, Dean of the College/School, or Provost
COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS: Serve on departmental, college, and university committees

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 month-tenure track

SALARY: Salary is competitive with excellent benefits package.
