DEPARTMENT: Earl Lester Cole Honors College  

QUALIFICATIONS: A Masters degree preferred, bachelors degree is required in Education, Sociology, Psychology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field. The desired candidate must be willing and able to generate reports using microsoft, excel and other software packages. At least 2 years experience working with students and faculty required. The desired candidate must be able to produce powerpoint presentations and assist faculty and students with technology needs. The candidate must be able to work with a diverse student and faculty population in a professional manner and must be able to assist with guided research activities. The candidate may be required to work some evenings, early mornings, and weekends and must have access to transportation. Prior experience working with faculty is preferred.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Direct student activities in the resource laboratories
  • Assist professors who teach honors seminar classes with course delivery through computer technology and other media
  • Ensure that the laboratories are well stocked
  • Assist students and faculty with locating search engines and appropriate data bases for research projects
  • Help with the preparation of Title III reports and all activities pertaining to academically gifted students as outlined in the grant
  • Ensure that the physical environments of the laboratories are always attractive, clean, and provide a healthy learning environment
  • Other duties as outlined by the assistant dean
