The College of Liberal Arts is committed to the mission of Grambling State University. The College of Liberal Arts consists of ten academic departments that offer students a broad liberal education and provide instructions in humanities, and the social and behavioral sciences, at all levels of undergraduate and graduate study, and in the adult community. Further, it provides a wide range of experiences and programs in international education and cultural events in which students, faculty, and the larger community participate. The College is, therefore, dedicated to the intellectual and civic development of human society within the scope of the University’s mission.
Purpose:
The main purposes of the College of Liberal Arts are:
- to offer students a broad liberal education
- to provide students instruction in-depth preparation to enter graduate and professional schools
- to offer basic courses (general education: common to other colleges and schools of the university
- to promote research and creative activity among faculty and students
- to offer a broad range of programs in international education and area studies
- to offer quality graduate education at the master's degree level
