The Cataloging Department supports the teaching and research programs of the Grambling State University by providing and maintaining access to selected scholarly information in all formats.
We use SirsiDynix's Unicorn Library Management System as our Online Catalog system, and Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) as our bibliographic database. Apart from the main collection, we catalog periodicals, audio-visual materials, computer files, and electronic resources.
Library collections are cataloged following the Anglo-American Cataloging Rules and Library of Congress Subject Headings. Materials are classified using Dewey Decimal Classification. In addition, we perform database maintenance.
The Cataloging Department provides efficient, timely bibliographic access to the Library's collection and other information resources in support of the Library and University educational mission.
