A Color Study to Exhibit at Grambling State University

GRAMBLING, LA – On November 7 thru the 18, 2011, Grambling State University’s Dunbar Gallery will host an exhibition by senior art student CeDerrick L. Mixon entitled A Color Study. Mixon’s works incorporate photography, painting and mixed media assemblagé.

Mixon states, “I believe courage, motivation, and resilience are the important traits that one must have to succeed or survive.” He uses color symbolically rather than literally to represent these ideas. Wood represents a strong foundation which is necessary for these traits to exist.

Mixon will graduate in December with the Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Digital Art. He has been accepted for Post Graduate study in Photography at Savannah School of Art and Design.

A reception for the artist will be held on November 8, 2011 from 4:30 – 6:00 PM. Dunbar Gallery is located on Hutchinson Street in Grambling.
