GRAMBLING, LA – Outgoing member of the Board of Supervisors of the University of Louisiana System Dr. Mildred G. Gallot will be honored at a reception on Friday evening, March 11, 2011 at 5:30 in the Black and Gold Room of the Favrot Student Union at Grambling State University. During the reception Dr. Frank G. Pogue, President of Grambling State University will announce the establishment of the Dr. Mildred G. Gallot Endowed Student Scholarship.
Dr. Mildred G. Gallot was appointed to serve on the Board of Supervisors of the University of Louisiana System in 2005 by then Governor Kathleen Blanco. She served as Vice-Chair of the Athletic and Auditing Committees.
Dr. Gallot is a retired professor from Grambling State University, History Department, where she served as Chairperson of the department and taught more than 35 years. In 2007, she was inducted in the GSU Alumni Hall of Fame for outstanding service and commitment to her Alma Mater. Mildred serves on the Board of Directors for the Grambling University Athletic Foundation. She is the author of A History of Grambling State University,

Gallot Endowed Scholarship can be made at the Reception or by contacting the Office of Institutional Advancement at (318) 274-2217. a book which was used by the university during its orientation sessions. She is a popular guest speaker, consultant, and active member of her community. In addition, Mildred is involved in various committees and organizations such as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Louisiana Historical Records Advisory Commission, Louisiana Historical Association, Ruston-Grambling League of Women Voters, American Association of University Women, and Life member of the Grambling Alumni Association, to name a few.
