President invites university alumni, faculty, staff, students and the community
GRAMBLING, La. – Grambling State University President Frank G. Pogue invites all alumni, faculty, staff, students and the Grambling-Ruston and northeast Louisiana communities to attend the official ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. at Grambling State University West Campus Annex on Wednesday, September 5.
The president postponed the event from last week because of the storm, not wanting to put the university community or the general community at risk. “We look forward to seeing everyone at this grand event,” said Pogue. “This is a historic event and a momentous opportunity for our institution.”
Pogue and a host of alumni, Grambling city and Lincoln parish appointed and elected officials and others will unveil the university’s newest campus for academic, housing and program expansion at the site of the former Ruston Developmental Center, near the West Campus administration building and the new Grambling State University-West Campus sign.
Meet the city, state and university officials who helped make this happen. Hear some of the history about the property. Find out how the university plans to use the campus for additional student housing options. Hear a vision about how the university will enhance its academic profile with this additional space. Learn how the university will continue its tradition of being an active, engaging and welcoming part of the Grambling-Ruston community. Members of the university’s marching band will perform.
The street address is 2776 Highway 150 in Ruston. The campus is about two miles from the main campus, near Hyatt Road and Highway 563. Look for a black fence and a large Grambling State University West Campus sign. Guests are strongly encouraged to arrive at least 20 minutes early to park and get good seats.
