Sport, Fitness, & Nutrition Summer Camp
“EnerGy: Get-Up & Get-Moving”
The Division of Academic Affairs at Grambling State University (GSU) is offering a Summer Academic Sport, Fitness, & Nutrition Camp designed for children and youth between the ages of 7 – 15. There will be two (2) sessions with Session I beginning July 16th – 20th with a registration deadline of Thursday July 12thand Session II beginning July 23rd – 27th with a registration deadline of Thursday July 19th. A joint effort of the Office of Continuing Education & Lifelong Learning with the Department of Kinesiology, Sport & Leisure Studies and Graduate Sports Administration Program, this Day Camp—operating between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday –Thursday and ending on Friday at 12:00 pm of each session—will engage youth in a unique experience through an energetic camp focused on lifetime sport activities that are adventurous, educational, and fun.
Campers will have an opportunity to explore a wide variety of activities including: aerobic dance and fitness training; explore the scientific principles of motion through sport; learn engineering design techniques through computer graphics and 3-D imaging; engage in first-aid training, injury prevention, treatment, and safety; tennis; class sessions on nutrition; and, weight training & body conditioning.
The cost of $90.00 per Camper includes an ID Card, daily lunch, camp t-shirt, notebook, water-bottle and backsack for each participant and is limited to the first 48 campers per session. For camp registration information, please call 318-274-3185 or 318-274-6278.
