Health Announcements and Notifications:

Faculty, Staff and Students:

On Wednesday, June 5, 2013, Grambling State University received notification that a member of the campus was diagnosed with Tuberculosis (TB) and is receiving corrective medical care.

Tuberculosis is a disease caused by germs that are spread from person to person through the air.

In consultation with the Louisiana Office of Public Health, and using their standard protocol, it is believed there was minimal exposure to the Grambling campus.  As a precautionary measure, about 70 individuals have been identified for testing.  These individuals will be contacted by the university and the Louisiana Office of Public Health and provided with a time and location for testing.

For information about TB, including risk factors and symptoms, you can visit a special section of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website:

Specific questions and concerns may be directed to Grambling State University Vice President of Student Affairs Stacey Duhon at 318-274-6120 or the Louisiana Office of Public Health at 318-361-7208.
