The primary mission of the Mail Room is to provide a speedy and safe avenue for the Administration, Faculty, Staff and Students to receive and distribute mail. We strive to provide a clean and neat building, a friendly and professional atmosphere while serving our clientele.
General Information:
The mail room provides postal service to all university departments, faculty, staff and students enrolled at the university. Mailboxes are assigned to all university units on campus. Mailboxes are assigned to the students after they bring their fee sheets to the mail room and register for a box.
On campus students mailbox fee is included in their fees at the time of general registration for school. Off campus students must pay a fee of $ 7.50(seven dollars) for the summer session and $15.00(fifteen dollars) for the Spring and Fall semesters. In order for students to maintain their mailboxes, they must register by bringing their fee sheets to the mail room to fill out a new registration card.
If departmental mailbox keys are lost, a requisition should be submitted and an approved copy brought to the mail room to obtain a replacement. Should a student lose his/her key, the fee is
$10.00(ten dollars) and should be paid at the cashier’s window in Long-Jones Hall and the receipt brought to the mail room to obtain a new key.
Incoming mail is picked up at 9 o’clock each morning and outgoing mail is carried to Grambling’s post office twice daily at 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock.
