Campers gear up for 2007 LA GEAR UP Camp
Grambling, LA –The annual LA GEAR UP Explorers Camp will be held at GSU June 24-30 and July 8-14. The exciting summer learning camp is designed for students in the eighth, ninth and tenth grades. Funded by a grant, the two one week camps will provide camp goers with detailed academic, enrichment and recreational activities while enhancing self-esteem. The camp will also give college bound students an edge on proper planning for college and provide a glance at some career opportunities. This year's grant is in the amount of $104,520.
Camp directors are Drs.Loretta W. Jaggers and Nanthalia McJamerson. Both are professors in the university's college of education where Dr. Sean Warner is the dean.
