New Era of Excellence Crosses $300,000 Raised for Grambling State University

Since President Gallot’s appointment in 2016, GSU Alumni and long-term supporter James Bradford have organized a dedicated group of supporters and givers to help grow Grambling State. For the third year, this group of more than 100 GSU community members supported the third annual New Era of Excellence Reception Saturday, March 16, 2018, raising more than $65,000 to bring their three-year total to $329,000. GRAMBLING, LA – January 24, 2019 – Today, Grambling State University announced CNN Commentator and history-making South Carolina Legislator, Bakari Sellers will keynote the University’s Black History Convocation at 11:00 a.m. on February 19, 2019.

Sellers, an HBCU graduate, is well-known for making history in 2006 when, at just 22 years old, he defeated a 26-year incumbent State Representative to become the youngest member of the South Carolina State Legislature and the youngest African American elected official in the nation. Impact Update: How Public Service Commission Investment Continues Impact at Grambling State

IMG_5568$462,000 Energy Grant Opportunity Grows Campus Opportunity for Student Impact

This week, Louisiana’s Public Service Commissioner Foster Campbell Awarded  $750,000 in energy efficiency grants, including $462,508 for initiatives at Grambling State.

“Energy Efficiency is a cost-effective way to reduce energy costs, improve building comfort and preserve our environment,” Campbell said. “Every dollar that our local governments and public bodies save on their electric bills is a dollar that can help them improve service to the public.”
