Exhibition Dates: April 13th – April 23rd
From April 13th– April 23rd, the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Grambling State University will host an exhibition by Rachel Wise, entitled My Garden, in Dunbar Gallery. Wise, a senior from Austin Texas, is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Visual and Performing Arts with a concentration in Studio Art.
Wise is interested in the natural designs inherent in the rhythmic of growth patterns of flowers. She says, “My love of flowers was very much influenced by the texture, color and fragrance of my grandmother’s flower garden. My Garden is a painted garden that explores the abstract biomorphic qualities of flowers juxtaposed with geometric patterns”.
The public is invited to meet the artist at a reception on April 16th from 4:30 pm – 6 pm in Dunbar Gallery. The gallery located on Hutchinson Street, Grambling State University. Gallery hours are from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, M – TH and 8:30 – 12:00 Noon on Friday. Accommodations are available for large groups and special needs persons.
