Grambling State Helps Fight Breast Cancer

4 Campus Events Provide Free Screenings and Help Raise Awareness 

ribbonFor the next two weeks, the Grambling State campus community will activate to help fight breast cancer through testing, awareness, and celebrating local survivors. Media and community members are invited to join campus leaders for the following:

  • Free breast cancer screenings will be held from 2-5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at GSU’s Free Betty E. Smith Nursing Building, 1 Cole St. The screenings are sponsored by the university’s Nursing Program and More Than Conquerors Breast Cancer Support Group.

  • “Pink Attitudes on the Runway,” a free fashion show, will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, in the Betty E. Smith Nursing Building Auditorium. Sponsors are the Nursing Program and More Than Conquerors Breast Cancer Support Group.

 

  • “Think Pink” Breast Cancer Awareness Parade will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18. Sponsored by the City of Grambling and More Than Conquerors Breast Cancer Support Group, the parade will travel from downtown Grambling through the GSU campus.

 

  • The GSU Tigers take on Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium. The football game is dedicated to Military Appreciation and Breast Cancer Awareness. For ticket information, please call (318) 274-2625 or (318) 274-2629. The GSU Ticket Office is located in the front window of the Frederick C. Hobdy Assembly Center. Office hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday 7:30-11 a.m. The box office has extended hours on Fridays before home games and on game days.
