Dunbar Gallery, GSU, Department of Visual and Performing Arts Senior Exhibition by Demetrius Love

Grambling, LA. – From November 16th – December 3rd, 2015, the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Grambling State University will host an exhibition by Demetrius Love, entitled Unique Provisions, in Dunbar Gallery. Love, a senior from Grambling, is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Visual and Performing Arts with a concentration in Studio Art.

Love’s exhibition explores the aspects of darkness and light in the human condition. He uses light and dark values as symbols for wise and unwise choices to show that our decisions influence the future direction of our lives. Love believes that young people often make bad choices and these consequences stay with them all of their lives. He says, “I have experienced a personal struggle that was the result of making some bad choices in my youth that I am still trying to overcome”. He hopes that his work will inspire other people to make better choices. He also believes that our society and legal system should have more services to help young people get back on track.

The public is invited to meet the artist at a reception on Tuesday, November 17, from 4:30 – 6:00 PM in Dunbar Gallery.   The gallery located on Hutchinson Street, Grambling State University. Gallery hours are from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, M – TH and 8:30 – 12:00 Noon on Friday. Accommodations are available for large groups and special needs persons.
