About Service-Learning
The Office of Service-Learning serves as the hub of academic service-learning activities. Faculty members from the various disciplines develop projects that fit the scope and cycle of service-learning. All projects must be approved by the director of service-learning prior to initiation of the activity.
Goals
To assist faculty with the development of service-learning projects that will contribute to the development of a human capital in Louisiana that is comprised of active, knowledgeable and engaged citizens/STEM professionals.
To encourage citizenship among students that carryover into the workforce after graduation.
To provide hands on experience for students to ensure an understanding of applying what is learned in the classroom to real life situations
To contribute to the institutionalization of service-learning.
