| DEPARTMENT: | College of Education |
| QUALIFICATIONS: | A Ph.D. in one of the academic disciplines offered in the College of Education from an accredited institution of higher education is required. Successful administrative experience, at least nine (9) years of teaching experience at the university level, and at least four (4) years of experience as a department head (chair), assistant, or associate dean, and teaching/leadership experience in PK-12 schools are also required. Candidate must hold the credentials and evidence of output necessary for tenure at the academic rank of associate professor or full professor. Evidence of past success in grant and contract research (college and/or K-12 schools), extensive hands-on NCATE experience, including positive outcomes addressing and writing to the NCATE standards (annual reports/institutional reports) and SPA standards, are required. Experience with assessment systems, including analyzing data for accreditation, and familiarity with federal laws and the transition to CAEP and its affect on education units are also strongly desired. The position requires the ability to work effectively with university administrators and diverse campus constituencies. The Dean must possess excellent written and oral communication skills; outstanding analytical skills; and a commitment to working in a diverse and inclusive environment. The Dean must also possess a strong sense of fairness and honesty and demonstrate organization and the ability to prioritize. Additionally, the Dean must be visible within all units of the college as well as outside of the college at state, regional, and national levels. |
