Assistant Professor of Leisure Studies  


DEPARTMENT: Department of Kinesiology, Sport and Leisure Studies  

QUALIFICATIONS: MS Degree required, PhD/EdD preferred, in therapeutic recreation, recreation, leisure studies or closely related discipline. The desired candidate must demonstrate interest in grant writing, research, publishing and other scholarly activities. Must be actively involved with professional organizations in career field and have teaching experience at the university level. Other experiences will be considered.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide leadership in Leisure Studies by assisting with department recruitment and retention
  • Teach courses in the content areas at the undergraduate level
  • Conduct student advisement
  • Enhance student scholarship in the leisure studies program
  • Adhere to the GSU Faculty Handbook
  • Serve as sponsor of the KSLS Majors Club
SALARY: Salary is competitive with excellent benefits package.
