Residence Hall Check-In
- Students who COMPLETED and RETURNED the housing application form and a deposit should report to their assigned residential hall as stated in their Assignment Letter from the University’s Department of Housing and Residential Life.
- Students who NEITHER COMPLETED the housing application form NOR SUBMITTED a deposit payment must report to the Tiger Village Club House.

Opening Session - The Assembly Center
New Student Opening Session: Provides all new students with Orientation Packets which contain the orientation-week schedule, registration information, campus map, key contacts, historical milestones at Grambling State University, etc.

Departmental Orientation
Students who have declared a major will report to their departments for orientation sessions. Students who have not declared a major should report to the Criminal Justice, Kinesiology, or Mass Communication departments. Students will learn more about: curriculum requirements, the academic calendar, the importance of the rising junior examination, the process for adding and dropping classes, registration for continuing students for Spring 2010, the final examination schedule and others. Attendance is required. Please check department locations listed below.

Mathematics Placement Test - Woodson Hall
Mathematics Placement Test: Students will take the mathematics placement examination. Non-programmable calculators are permitted. The test will cover algebra and trigonometry. Students will not be able to register for classes until they have taken the Mathematics Placement Test and scores are disseminated to the advisors. Students should report to Woodson Hall so that the testing monitors can inform students if they are exempt from taking the test. Students who are exempt from the test should report to their respective departments for advisement from 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. Students who are exempt for the test should report to the Office of Students Financial Aid if there is a need to do so.
All students are required to attend the mathematics testing session.

Financial Aid Assessment for New Students
Students who are exempt from the mathematics placement test and who have been informed that they need to visit the Office of Student Financial Aid should do so at this time. Students who are NOT EXEMPT from the mathematics placement test should follow the schedule below to visit the Office of Student Financial Aid. Please call the financial aid office prior to arriving at Grambling State University to determine if you have missing documents, etc. - Telephone Numbers (318) 274-6440 or (318) 274-6056 or visit Lee Hall on the campus of Grambling State University.

Advisement and Registration
Students who have declared a major will report to their departments for advisement and Banner training. Students who have not declared a major should report to the Criminal Justice, Kinesiology, or Mass Communication departments for advisement. Students should pay tuition and fees on-line before leaving their advisor. Students who are unable to pay on-line should report to the cashier to pay fees and negotiate the meal plan in the Intramural Center.
