By scheduling a guided campus tour, you can see what this prestigious institution has to offer--up close and personal.
Tour Overview
Visit and explore Grambling State University. Campus tours for prospective students, their families, and groups are offered throughout the year. Reservations are required for all tours. The tours are conducted by Student Tour Guides who are highly trained to show highlights of the campus, academic programs, and student life. Our guests will have an opportunity to tour the new residence halls, our new state-of-the-art Assembly Center, the University bookstore, the food court (which houses vendors like Burger King and Starbucks), and many other facets of the university.
Our walking tour takes about an hour and requires comfortable walking shoes. Riding tours are done for large groups on the buses in which they arrive. Riding tours can be accommodated for small groups if advanced notice is provided, and if campus transportation is available.
- Campus tours are conducted Monday through Friday at 10:00 am and
2:00 pm.
NOTICE: Summer Campus Tours will be conducted at 10:00 am ONLY (Monday through Friday). The regular tour schedule will resume August 17, 2009. -
The Saturdays that have been designated for campus tours for the remainder
of the year are as follows:
- June 27th
- July – No Saturday campus tour
- August – No Saturday campus tour
- September 12th
- October 31st
- November 14th - Tours are not offered on Sundays, during major holidays, or when the campus is closed.
- Visitors should meet for the tour at Grambling Hall (Bldg #18) – Admissions Office.
- All scheduled tours are conducted, rain or shine.
- Notification is required 24 hours in advance, if a scheduled tour needs to be canceled or rescheduled.
- Dining is not part of our campus tour; however, on-campus dining is available. Large groups must make pre-arrangements with our dining hall. Other eateries are within walking distance of the campus.
- Visitors with disabilities, or those who need special accommodations should specify on the Campus Tour Reservation Form.
- Want to avoid the crowd? The best time to schedule tours is from January –June.
Please complete a Campus Tour Reservation Form and email it to mcgowana@gram.edu. When the tour has been scheduled, you will receive e-mail confirmation with the date, time of tour, and name of your tour guide.
