The Academic Skills Center

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Academic Skills Center is to provide a learning environment that allows students the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve academic success.

OVERVIEW

The Academic Skills Center works in collaboration with deans, department heads, and faculty from degree granting colleges and schools to fulfill the Center’s mission. By partnering with the faculty and responding to student needs, the Center provides a supportive learning community that helps students achieve their academic potential.

SERVICES

COMPUTER LABORATORIES
A total of five computer laboratories are available for student use. Each laboratory serves a specific function and has an on-site student monitor. The location of each laboratory is identified below.

  • Writing Lab - Brown Hall, Room 205
  • Black Board Training Lab - Brown Hall, Room 229
  • Mathematics Lab - Brown Hall, Room 209
  • Center for Academic Success - Brown Hall, Room 121
  • English Lab - Brown Hall, Room 202

Hours of Operation:
Monday through Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

GROUP STUDY ROOMS
The Academic Skills Center offers group study rooms. These rooms are available on a first-come basis. They may be reserved by contacting the staff.
