Greetings Grambling, Ruston, and surrounding areas. It is with joy and excitement that the Pinkie Wilkerson Life Development Center invite you to join us on March 14th at 12:00pm for an afternoon of festivities honoring the late great ambassador of social justice, State Representative Pinkie C. Wilkerson.

Who was Pinkie C. Wilkerson you may ask?

Pinkie Carolyn Wilkerson was a woman on a mission. Her task was to cross class, race, and geographic lines because human need has no color, no boundary, and no special place. She served as state representative in the Louisiana Legislature from 1992 until her death in 2000.
Everyone admired this woman on a mission, and her legacy continues. The African-American Bar Association presents an annual “Pinkie C. Wilkerson Outstanding State Legislator of the Year Award” to a deserving recipient. In the city of Grambling, the non-profit foundation, the Pinkie C. Wilkerson Life Development Center, and the State Representative Pinkie C. Wilkerson Memorial Interchange both bear her name. To her family, friends, and constituents, she was a phenomenal woman and always on a mission dedicated to her job.

Tickets for the event are $40 per person. You may also buy a table of 8 for $320. Corporate sponsorships or “Friends of Pinkie” are also available and range from $250 to $5,000. To purchase tickets or to make a donation, please feel free to contact Valena Lane at 318-243-6676 or Nelda Baisy at 318-548-6922.

We appreciate your support and hope to see you on March 14th at the Arcadia Events Center as we celebrate the life and legacy of Pinkie C. Wilkerson at the “Remember Pinkie” Luncheon.
