Parents Fund

All Grambling students receive some kind of financial assistance for their education.

Tuition covers roughly 60 percent of the cost of educating each Grambling student and the remainder portion must come from other sources. Contributions to the Grambling Parents Fund are applied to the university’s operating budget and help to bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of a GSU education. Gifts to the Parents Fund also support acquisitions for the university library, athletics, information technology, the purchase of scientific and technological equipment, renovations—and, of course, financial aid.

The Grambling Parents Fund is guided by the Annual Fund as well as representatives of each class, alumni parents of current students and parents of graduates. Parents are encouraged to support the university at all levels of giving. Leadership gifts qualify parents for membership in special donor recognition societies.

The Grambling Parents Program strives to develop and nurture lifelong relationships between the College and parents of students and alumni. The Parents Program's primary purposes are to:

Build relationships with parents through quality programming, both on campus and in cities across the nation.
Increase the resources of the College by developing and managing the parents fund-raising program.
Serve as a resource for parents when they have questions or concerns.
Parents of Grambling students have much to be proud of—from their children’s success in attending GSU to the sound investment they are making in their students’ futures.

Contributions to the Parents Fund ensure the caliber of opportunities that are available to all students, including interdisciplinary coursework, overseas study, and other programs that expose students to the various ideas, peoples, and histories of the world are the best.

Gifts to the Parents Fund help provide a Grambling education to talented students, even those with limited financial resources. Every gift to the Parents Fund is critical to the University and is a vote of confidence in our rigorous curriculum and the work of our outstanding professors.
