When you are truly passionate about your work it shows – in the people you reach, in what you produce, and ultimately in how it affects everyone around you. When you do it for a community you care about, it changes the world. 

On behalf of the entire Grambling State University family, I would like to offer our condolences and gratitude to the family of the legendary Buddy Davis who helped cement Grambling State on the map and change our world. 

Through his dedicated coverage of Coach Eddie G. Robinson and phenomenal players like our Doug Williams and Willis Reed, Buddy helped make sure readers across the world knew about that greatness that is Grambling. 

A gift to Lincoln Parish, I’m glad to have had the chance to know Buddy as both a reader, colleague, and an incredible friend of Grambling. 

Buddy, I know I speak for all of us when I say that you are one of a kind. You’ve changed the game in reporting and helped us elevate our students and university in ways that will help us for years to come. 

To your family, know that we are here to support in any way you need and will celebrate this immense legacy we know will live on in our Parish, in sports, and in history.
