Alumni and football fans have been anxiously awaiting the kickoff of the 2019 college football season, headlined by the August 31 matchup between the University of Louisiana at Monroe Warhawks and Grambling State University Tigers at ULM’s Malone Stadium. Mayor Jamie Mayo and the City of Monroe will host a special “neutral site” pre-game press conference featuring coaches and university officials from both schools, at 10 am Wednesday, August 21, in the Monroe Convention Center Bayou Room, located at 401 Lea Joyner Expressway, Monroe, LA. The media and public are invited to attend.
Mayor Jamie Mayo says, “We are Monroe Proud to host this event and welcome Warhawk and Tiger fans from across the region, state, and country back home. This I-20 matchup has created a buzz since the 2019 college football schedule was announced.
