Governor John Bel Edwards Invites Grambling State Concert Choir to Perform at Inauguration

Three Louisiana Choirs to Unite on the Capital Steps, January 13, 2020

GRAMBLING, La – January 10, 2020 – Grambling State University’s Concert Choir will perform during second inauguration of Governor John Bel Edwards. The ceremony will take place at the Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge at 11:30 a.m. on January 13, 2020.

Grambling State’s Concert Choir will be joined by choirs from Centenary College and Southern University to perform gospel numbers, “Total Praise” and “Order My Steps,” featuring lead vocals from Fall 2019 graduate, Ruth God.

“Our choir is honored for the opportunity to support Governor Edwards in his second inauguration,” said Natorshau Davis, Grambling State’s Choral Director. “Our students are excited to kick off a year filled with exceptional choral opportunities by partnering with voices from Southern University and Centenary College.”

Following this collaboration, the Grambling State Choir looks forward to a Cultural Arts Tour in Paris, France, June 5 – 14, 2020.
