Grambling State University to hold commencement ceremonies December 15-17

GRAMBLING, La. – December 8, 2021 – Grambling State University will celebrate its Fall 2021 graduating class with commencement ceremonies on Wednesday, December 15, Thursday, December 16, and Friday, December 17. Scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. each day, the events will be held in the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center and streamed live on Grambling State’s YouTube channel.

“We’re looking forward to the celebration of the completion of a goal set by the members to experience this milestone,” said Grambling State University President Rick Gallot. “Their resilience through the continued challenges presented in 2021 should be applauded.”

On December 15, degrees will be conferred from Graduate Studies (Doctor of Education, Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Arts in Social Sciences, Master of Education in Special Education, Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, Master of Public Administration, Master of Science in Criminal Justice, Master of Science in Developmental Education, Master of Science in Sports Administration, Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Social Work, Post Master’s Certificate).

The December 16 ceremony will confer degrees upon graduates from the College of Education (Kinesiology, Leisure Studies, Teacher Education degree programs) and the College of Professional Studies (Criminal Justice, Mass Communications, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology).

The December 17 ceremony will confer degrees upon graduates from the College of Business
(Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Management, Marketing) and College of Arts & Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Child Development & Early Literacy, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering Technology, English, General Studies, History, Mathematics & Physics, Music, Political Science, Visual & Performing Arts).

Graduates are asked to limit guests to twelve for attendance at each ceremony. Social distancing will be practiced with seating and masks must be worn during the event. The clear bag policy will also be enforced at the assembly center. Guests are asked to leave gifts, balloons, and large purses in their vehicles.
