From President Gallot: Remembering Mrs. Leah Chase

Leah-chaseFrom President Gallot: While a challenging week, it is also a week of inspiration. As we remember some of the cultural giants, heroes and innovators who have passed away this weekend, I want to challenge all of us to leverage their stories as inspiration for what is possible and for what we all can do to step our communities and culture ahead.

To the family of Mrs. Leah Chase, on behalf of Christy and I and our entire Grambling State community I want to thank you for sharing the gift of your matriarch with the world. From my law school days to now, she has been an incredible support and provided more than a restaurant, but a little taste of home for us all as we have grown and traveled.

Her spirit of hospitality, service, and excellence is a true gift to us all and we are eternally grateful for her life and legacy.

On behalf of the entire Grambling State University family, I would like to offer our condolences to the family of Kendra Butler and her son Remington Butler, as they mourn the loss of our student and community member.
